Lately I've been getting a few inquiries regarding earrings I've made a while back.  These inquiries led to the relisting of them in my boutique and new friends on etsy.  I was so excited and shocked all at the same time because I love getting messages from people, it makes me feel important lol and because with all of the colorful trends out now, I was shocked that people still wanted a cute and dainty pair of earrings.  This weekend I will be working on my orders for my wonderful new customers and I'll be bringing back an old favorite of mine, precious metal clay (PMC).  Stay tuned, I look to be adding 2 new pair of earrings to my boutique by next weekend.

My first attempt at using Bronze clay and my new Kiln was interesting.  I noticed that bronze clay dries faster than PMC, so I had to work really fast in kneading and forming my pieces.  I had about 15 pieces cut and ready to fire, but I only loved one. lol  After all of my items were dry, all of these new design ideas popped into my head causing me to scrap the other pieces. My first round with my kiln wasn't as quick as I thought it would me.  The manual was speaking another language to me, I swear I needed Rosetta Stone to understand.  I turned to cooltools for step by step instructions on how to work my machine, she did a great job explaining how to get it going.  Firing my pieces still took about 8 hours instead of 30 min because instead of programming the kiln to quickly meet the needed temperature I gave it time to gradually increase to it.  During that time I worked and finished 2 kumihimo bracelets and watched every video on the Fawn network on Youtube.  If at first you don't succeed... so I'll be trying to work more kinks out next weekend.   I'm going to start working from my sketchbook instead of trying to meet trends, I feel that it works best for me.  I hope you all like my new items coming soon.
